To commemorate the notable Chinese Peking opera artist in modern Chinese theatre, Mei Lanfang at His Young Age, a short animation film telling the story of how Mei started his career in Peking Opera at a young age, was presented to the audience. “It’s not an ordinary animation film,” Bai Weiwei, the CEO of Mei Lanfang Culture & Technology Co., LTD, said that AIGC technology was adopted in producing the film. Meanwhile, interactive programs that allow users to become famous characters of Peking Operas were unveiled at the release. These programs will be set up at the Chongqing People’s Auditorium. Visitors can use the interactive programs and upload photos when visiting the Auditorium. Through AI and AR technologies, their images will be turned into famous characters of Peking Operas based on what they choose. What’s worth noting is that the original figure on the programs is called Meilan, a digital inheritor of Peking Opera. Her face was generated through AI technologies based on collected facial models of females from Mei Lanfang’s family and some typical oriental beauties.
Chongqing Tourism Cloud Information Technology Co., LTD and People’s Artists Palace (Chongqing) Technology & Culture Co., LTD signed a strategic cooperative agreement to promote more metaverse tourism and culture projects to be landed in Chongqing. In the future, it’s expected that more interactive AI programs will be provided to tourists at Chongqing’s iconic tourist destinations.
