By YUTING CHEN|Mar 04,2024

Editor’s Note: Bridging News launched a social media campaign to promote collaboration among Chongqing Municipality, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Guizhou, and Hubei provinces during this year’s Two Sessions. The campaign showcases each region’s achievements and measures in enhancing the shipping infrastructure of the Yangtze Upper Reaches, using the hashtag #YangtzeUpperReachesPower.

Yangluo Port in Wuhan is the largest port in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River and ranks as the world’s top inland river port. As the core and hub of Wuhan Port, it handles 80% of the city’s import and export goods.

Yangluo Port, a vital middle and upper Yangtze River link, strengthens economic ties between Central and Western China and Asia-Europe, with 42 multimodal transport routes. Its influence spans the northwest, southwest, and into Europe, establishing a seamless “river-to-sea” connection.

In its 19 years of operation, Yangluo Port has expanded its services nationwide and globally connected. It boasts container and vehicle roll-on/roll-off transport capacities, handling five million TEUs and two million vehicles.

In recent years, Yangluo Port has accelerated the intelligent transformation and upgraded traditional container terminals, integrating digital technologies such as 5G, the Internet of Things, and big data for comprehensive information management and functional integration within the port area.

Dedicated to sustainable development, Yangluo Port actively constructs green port facilities. Installing 12 shore power units across the port’s docks ensures full shore power coverage, leading to a 30% reduction in fuel consumption for docked vessels.
