Singaporean Enterprise Transfong Ventures Eyes Western China Market Under CCI | Insights

By RAN ZHENGYINGZHU CHEN|Mar 10,2024

Chongqing - Amid an online interview with Bridging News on March 6, Li Wei, co-founder and CEO of Transfong Ventures, observed a highlight in enhancing disruptive frontier technology research from the Chinese government work report.

Li added, "We hope it will translate into more investment, supporting policies, and talent into technology domains."

Li elaborated on how Transfong Ventures, a cross-border accelerator company in Singapore, plans to leverage the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI) to facilitate market entry for Singaporean technology companies into Western China.

"Cross-border market and technology intelligence are vital for companies looking to understand the new competitive landscape," Li said. He emphasized the importance of providing clients with industry events, cross-border clinics, mentoring sessions, and consulting projects.

Li said Transfong Ventures' approach aligns with China's emphasis on disruptive technology research and its efforts to create a more supportive ecosystem for technology companies, especially those outside China, looking to enter the Chinese market.

The government work report also underscores China's commitment to ensuring national treatment for foreign-funded enterprises and pursuing a higher standard of opening up. It elaborates on how foreign businesses will be granted equal status, guaranteeing their fair participation in government procurement, bidding, and tendering processes.

The CCI, a government-to-government project, is highlighted as a key facilitator of cross-border collaboration between Singapore and China.

Li shared Transfong Ventures' plans to launch a structured acceleration co-innovation program under the CCI framework. CCI is designed to smooth the path for Singaporean technology companies entering the Chinese market.

Furthermore, the company intends to establish its local operations in Chongqing, seeking ecosystem partners within the CCI framework. "We are coming to Chongqing this month, hoping to kickstart operations and establish a company by the middle of this year," Li expressed optimistically.
