Chongqing and Mexico Forge ahead with Bilateral Cooperation

Chongqing - On March 12, the "Sharing Opportunities and Creating the Future Together" China-Mexico Cooperation and Development Forum unfolded in a dynamic hybrid format, blending online and offline participation. This event, a collaborative effort between the China International Communications Group (CICG) Center for the Americas and the Senate of the Republic of Mexico, with organizational support from the China International Book Trading Corporation, marked a significant milestone in bilateral relations.

At the invitation of the Center for the Americas under the CICG, Wang Wen, Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, graced the forum with an online presence and imparted insights through a compelling keynote address.

Wang Wen emphasized Chongqing's role as a fervent advocate for China-Mexico relations, noting Mexico's status as Chongqing's premier trading ally in Latin America. She articulated Chongqing's readiness to join forces with Mexico to unearth cooperative potential and elevate their bilateral exchange to unprecedented levels. Looking ahead, Chongqing anticipates deepening its pragmatic cooperation with Mexico, fostering innovation in new energy vehicles, clean energy, and advanced machinery.

Chongqing is committed to bolstering youth engagement and enriching the bilateral rapport through educational and cultural initiatives, establishing a solid foundation for collaborative endeavors. Furthermore, Chongqing aims to intensify city-to-city interactions, facilitating a variety of exchange activities, including conferences, gastronomic events, cultural performances, and project collaborations, thereby enhancing the friendship between Chongqing and its Mexican counterparts.
