Chongqing - The China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Chongqing Investment Promotion takes place from April 1 to 3 at the Yuelai International Conference Center, attracting 117 top exhibitors, including investment agencies and multinationals, as recently announced by Gao Feng, Director of the Division of Press and Publicity, CIIE Bureau, at a press conference.
Gao highlights that the event features 81 participants from the Fortune 500 and leading industries, like Michelin Group, Ford, and Bayer, marking a significant assembly of global economic powerhouses. The agenda includes roundtable discussions, meetings, and industry-specific investment sessions.
The CIIE in Chongqing Investment Promotion aims to bolster the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the "33618" manufacturing cluster by focusing on six key sectors: medical equipment, food, automobiles, equipment manufacturing, services, and consumer goods.
This strategic focus seeks to attract investment and encourage collaboration between CIIE exhibitors, multinational companies, and foreign associations interested in these areas.
This event leverages the strategic benefits of the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area and the Western (Chongqing) Science City, utilizing CIIE's infrastructure to enable direct discussions and negotiations with international partners. This arrangement ensures access to premier resources for fruitful dialogues and investment chances.
Chu Bin, Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, introduced the "one enterprise, one policy" service, designed to simplify participant procedures through customized matchmaking, enhance meaningful interactions, and boost economic and trade collaboration.
The event includes thematic activities such as a roundtable with foreign enterprises and a medical industry-government symposium, facilitating discussions on investment policies and China's business environment. These activities aim to strengthen mutual trust and improve Chongqing's business climate.
CIIE, the world's first import-themed national-level expo, has seen Chongqing organize 32 trade groups and thousands of participants over six years, generating over 7 billion yuan (about USD 1 billion) in intended purchases. This effort led to 102 investment deals worth more than 140 billion yuan, successfully converting exhibitors into investors.
