Chongqing - On April 11, a press conference on the development of the Laoying Tea industry was held, declaring its goal to harness the tea sector as a catalyst for economic, environmental, and social prosperity. The initiative is poised to elevate the "Hometown of Chinese Laoying Tea" to new heights of brand recognition.

Chongqing's Wuxi County is resolutely shaping Laoying Tea into a hallmark product of Chongqing, leveraging the region's profound Wu cultural heritage and the tea's unique medicinal properties. Wang Zhong, Mayor of Wuxi County, articulated a comprehensive industry chain strategy aiming to catalyze the high-quality growth of the Laoying Tea industry, with an ambitious target to reach an annual output value of 5 billion yuan (approximately 691 million US dollars) by 2030, thereby crafting a globally recognized tea industry brand.

The county's strategy underscores the production excellence of Laoying Tea, fostering product diversity and market expansion. Through dynamic partnerships, Wuxi has unveiled innovative Laoying Tea-infused products like coffee and popsicles, significantly boosting the brand's visibility. The county is advancing towards the holistic development of Laoying Tea, positioning it at the heart of the burgeoning wellness industry clusters.

The 2024 Wuxi Laoying Tea Culture and Tourism Consumption Festival, commencing on April 23, promises an array of enriching cultural and tourism endeavors, including creative contests and tea-making competitions. This platform will showcase Laoying Tea's rich cultural heritage and artisanal expertise, propelling industry standardization and brand prominence through diverse activities and product innovations. Furthermore, Wuxi is keen on enhancing the local cultural and tourism landscape with tea-centric experiences and creative offerings, aspiring to distinguish Laoying Tea as a celebrated Chinese tea icon.

Laoying Tea's foray into the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macau Greater Bay Area market, facilitated by a strategic pact with the Chongqing Municipal People's Government Office in Guangdong, marks a significant leap in its industry evolution. Wuxi is set to broaden its influence across southern China by engaging in prominent food and tea expos. In collaboration with Guangdong Minghuang Tea Co., Ltd., Wuxi County spearheads the Laoying Tea industry's growth, spotlighting its market promise in the southern territories.
