Chongqing—On April 21, the China Tourism Academy Summit 2024, hosted by the China Tourism Academy, took place in Beijing. During the event, the 2023 National Visitor Satisfaction Survey Report was unveiled. Chongqing was recognized as one of the top ten cities for visitor satisfaction in 2023, alongside Suzhou, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Kunming, Qingdao, Xi'an, Nanjing, Beijing, and Shenyang.

According to the report, China's tourist satisfaction composite index reached 80.04 in 2023, remaining within the "satisfied" range and approximating the levels observed in 2019. This accomplishment is significant, particularly given the supply chain's pronounced demand and ongoing recovery.

As a principal tourist destination in China, Chongqing has served as a model city for the China Tourism Academy's quality monitoring of tourism development. In 2023, Chongqing, alongside Hangzhou and Suzhou, maintained top-tier rankings in overall satisfaction among 13 cities.

For years, Chongqing has embraced a people-centered strategy, concentrating on sophisticated design to refine mechanisms and articulate measures. It is striving to forge a reputation as a city that cherishes its visitors and consistently enhances the quality of its tourism services.

To further elevate visitor satisfaction, Chongqing has instituted several initiatives. Firstly, it has established tourist service stations and a straightforward return policy for tourist products to augment service personalization and convenience. Secondly, humanized care is enhanced through bridge closures and traffic rerouting during peak tourist periods and in key areas, thereby boosting tourists' satisfaction and sense of belonging. Thirdly, overt and covert inspections should be reinforced, and systematic supervision should be to ensure a well-regulated tourism market. Fourthly, the comprehensive service chain, from dining and lodging to travel, shopping, and entertainment, should be enhanced to bolster the city's tourism infrastructure.
