Modern Manufacturing Industry Secured 110.6 Billion Yuan at 6th WCIFIT

Chongqing - The 6th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) concluded on May 26. During the event, 124 manufacturing projects worth 198.85 billion yuan (USD 27.46 billion) and 58 modern service industry projects totaling 88.42 billion yuan were signed, as announced at the closing press conference.

Significant growth was noted, with 105 projects exceeding 1 billion yuan, a 46.7% increase from last year. Four projects surpassed 10 billion yuan, four involved Fortune 500 companies, and 25 were with industry leaders.

Chongqing's "33618" manufacturing cluster system secured 62 projects totaling 110.6 billion yuan in intelligent connected NEVs, new-generation electronic information manufacturing, and advanced materials.

Zhang Yongwu, Director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, highlighted Western China's confidence in expanding openness and its vast investment and trade potential.

This year's fair saw 12 foreign investment projects worth 26.7 billion yuan involving countries like Singapore and Germany. Notable projects include Huate Power's methanol-reforming hydrogen fuel heap and a new energy power plant investment headquarters.

As Belarus became the guest country of honor this year, the fair attracted notable guests, including Alexander Genrikhovich Turchin, Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, and 39 mayors from 25 countries. The Belarusian Ambassador to China, 23 embassy and consulate officials, and heads of foreign business associations also attended.

This year's WCIFIT featured exhibitors from 40 countries, including Poland, Russia, South Korea, Uruguay, Italy, and Israel. The international cooperation area showcased Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) projects and achievements.

Technological innovation emerged with 129 new products, including zero-carbon energy storage materials. The fair also featured China's aerospace achievements, including space stations, satellites, and launch vehicles.

Zhang announced that the 7th WCIFIT is scheduled for May 22-25 next year. It will focus on new product debuts and enhance industry clustering and trade cooperation. He invited all old and new friends to gather in Chongqing.
