Chongqing - Hu Henghua, Mayor of Chongqing, recently delivered a keynote address at Asia Tech x Singapore (ATxSG) at the Singapore Expo. He highlighted Chongqing's strong industrial base, market potential, and diverse applications and expressed a desire to use ATxSG for collaboration across political, industrial, academic, and research sectors.

Hu emphasized Chongqing's role as a mega-city, industrial powerhouse, and key hub for digital economic development and urban digital governance. He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting digital technology innovation and cooperation.

ATxSG is Asia's leading tech event, organized by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA)  and Informa Tech, with support from the Singapore Tourism Board. It features two main segments, ATxSummit and ATxEnterprise, and has historically attracted professionals from various sectors.

This year's conference, which took place from May 29 to 31, focused on the information and communications sector, covering mobile communications, AI, cloud computing, and more. Experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and policymakers from various countries shared insights on the latest industry trends through a series of summits.

Chongqing brought 22 software and information services companies to foster collaborations with Singaporean counterparts through exchanges and investigations.

Ten notable Chongqing tech enterprises, including Digital Chongqing Big Data Application Development Co., Seres Group, Mashang Consumer Finance Co., Terminus Group, Super Lucy, and Chongqing Zhongyou Information Technology Group (CYIT), participated in the conference for the first time.

A Digital Chongqing Big Data Application Development Co. representative expressed interest in learning about smart city construction in Singapore and nearby regions. They aim to collaborate with Singaporean enterprises in AI and algorithm research to enhance their support for smart city initiatives.

Digital Chongqing Big Data Application Development Co., Ltd. leads Chongqing's integrated intelligent digital platform, serving as the cornerstone for public data integration and authorized operations.

Mashang Consumer Finance Co. showcased cutting-edge technologies and social responsibility practices at the conference. They highlighted "Tianjing," China's first financial AI model, customized for eight key applications, including knowledge assistance, intelligent marketing, data-driven decision-making, and fraud prevention.

The "Tianjing" AI model can effectively filter 99.9% of potential security risks. In February, it ranked first in scenario richness, capability performance, and application maturity in a specialized evaluation by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.

"We've gained a lot from this trip. As a technology-driven digital finance institution, we continually focus on talent and technological innovation, expanding more inclusive finance consumer scenarios," said a representative from Mashang Consumer Finance Co., the only tech-based financial institution in the delegation. 

He added, "In the future, we will actively participate in international digital economy exchanges and cooperation, contributing to the high-level openness of Smart Chongqing."

Xiao Hanchun, Chairman and General Manager of CYIT, noted that Singaporean companies in the digital sector have thrived due to advanced technology and innovation, supported by Singapore's role as Asia's financial, commercial, and tech hub.

"Through this exchange, we aim to better understand Singapore's business environment, explore establishing an overseas headquarters, and assess the prospects of Singapore's arithmetic and intelligent computing centers," said Xiao. "We hope to provide digital and intelligent business services to local enterprises and pursue mutual growth."
