China and Singapore Collaborate to Boost the Digital Economy in Western China

Chongqing - The China-Singapore (Chongqing) International Dedicated Connectivity (IDC) and the China-Singapore (Chongqing) ICM Joint Innovation Development Fund (JIDF) enhance international data transmission for Western Chinese enterprises, promoting the region's digital economy, said Du Lixin, Deputy Director of Yuzhong District Big Data Application and Development Administration, at a policy briefing on July 4.

The IDC is China’s first dedicated international internet data channel for specific countries, serving as a crucial information conduit for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC). It stands as a hallmark of the Chongqing Connectivity Initiative (CCI). Currently, the channel has been connected to eight industrial parks including the Chongqing Digital Economy Industrial Park.

The JIDF is a special subsidy fund established to promote innovative cooperation in the information and communication of the CCI and to deepen relationships between China and Singapore’s information and communication enterprises.

The policy briefing aimed to advance cooperation in the information and communication sector between China and Singapore, further promoting the growth of the digital economy for both.

At the briefing, Zhang Jie, an official with the Chongqing Big Data Application and Development Administration, said that China and Singapore will rely on the channel to strengthen connectivity in information and communication, jointly explore new technologies and applications in data communication, and promote the digital transformation of both economies.

Hu Ying, Assistant Director of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), shared experiences and cases of Singaporean enterprises in information and communication technology. Hu sincerely invited Chinese enterprises to enhance cooperation with Singapore.

Numerous corporate representatives shared their cases and experiences about the cooperation of China-Singapore in information and communication and the IDC.

Dai Zilin, General Manager of China-Singapore Data Port (Chongqing) Technology Co., Ltd. presented the China-Singapore Smart Cloud (CSDP-WAN) global intelligent networking service, highlighting its technical advantages and capabilities in the construction of IDC.
