Chongqing - China introduced several policies to facilitate foreign nationals' entry this year. In the first half, 14.635 million foreign entries were recorded, a 152.7% year-on-year increase. Of these, 8.542 million entered visa-free, representing 52% of the total and a 190.1% year-on-year increase, according to the latest data from the State Council, China's cabinet.

Chongqing's inbound tourism market is thriving. Jiangbei International Airport connects 23 countries and regions through 28 international passenger routes, leading to a steady increase in travelers.

To enhance inbound passenger clearance, Chongqing Customs District has strengthened machine inspection and intelligent image analysis, adjusted manpower allocation, and optimized inspection channels to provide "no-delay" services.

With increased foreign tourists, Chongqing's duty-free economy has significantly boosted new consumption. Enhanced duty-free policies and streamlined customs procedures have further facilitated this growth, making Chongqing a key hub for duty-free shopping in western China.

To facilitate foreign visitors, Chongqing Customs District focuses on the clearance process by setting up dedicated stations to coordinate with duty-free enterprises. It implements pre-appointment for outbound declarations to enhance inspection efficiency and collaborates with duty-free enterprises to expedite replenishment.

While hotpot ingredients have become increasingly popular among foreign diners, Chongqing Customs District has supported this trend by providing thorough inspections and guidance on production materials, workshop environments, and manufacturing processes within enterprises.
