Chongqing - From "Film in Chongqing" to "Chongqing Films," the city is striving to become a film industry powerhouse. At the first China Chongqing Science and Technology Film Week, Yongchuan District signed over 30 high-quality tech and film enterprises and showcased diversified new virtual technologies.
Tiantu Wanjing, a global leader in AI perceptual audio-visual technology, established a partnership with Yongchuan. The company's AI image segmentation technology distinguishes different objects and scenes in any background, surpassing the limitations of traditional green screens.
"This is due to AI technology's environment analysis function, allowing targeted objects to be retained," explained Jared Kai Chang, Tiantu Wanjing’s technical partner.
At Yongchuan Technology Studios, Zhou Xiaofan, virtual filming director of Dawa Future (Chongqing) Imaging Technology Co., Ltd., demonstrated film post-production using virtual technology. "Virtual shooting achieves the same effect as practical sets but with higher efficiency and lower costs," Zhou noted.
Chongqing has been a popular filming location for many classic works. Zhou believes filmmakers are drawn to Chongqing for its 8D magical scenes, cinematic quality, and spatial depth.
"With advanced technologies now available, Chongqing offers more opportunities for creators to unleash their imagination and explore new creative possibilities," Zhou praised Chongqing's potential in filmmaking.
