Chongqing - On July 17, a special press conference showcased how various districts and counties in Chongqing are advancing high-quality urban development centered on Hechuan, where Hechuan's key leaders unveiled the latest developments at Diaoyu Fortress.

As a prominent emblem of Chongqing's historical and cultural heritage, Diaoyu Fortress was once again underscored for its unparalleled historical significance. During the press conference, the Hechuan District representative highlighted that Diaoyu Fortress is not only a world-class cultural and tourism asset but also a testament to pivotal historical transformations on a global scale, embodying the loyalty, courage, and military acumen of the Chinese people.

Hechuan District is devoted to profoundly exploring the historical value of the Diaoyu Fortress, systematically mapping its cultural lineage, and interpreting its historical, cultural, and military significance from multiple perspectives. The objective is to revitalize this 800-year-old ancient city with newfound vitality. Currently, Hechuan District is progressing with research initiatives such as the Multidimensional Interpretation and Application of the Value of Diaoyu Fortress Ruins and actively promoting its application for World Heritage status.

Simultaneously, to elevate the visitor experience, Hechuan District has introduced an array of tourism projects within the Diaoyu Fortress Scenic Area. These range from ancient activities like cuju (ancient Chinese football), archery, and pitch-pot to tranquil spots and contemporary entertainment offerings such as role-playing and simulation games. The tourist experience at Diaoyu Fortress has been comprehensively enhanced. Furthermore, the integration of cutting-edge technologies, including digital projection and holographic virtual reality, allows visitors to virtually traverse time and witness the historical scenes of the Diaoyu Fortress defense battle firsthand.

Hechuan District continually enriches Diaoyu Fortress's cultural tourism portfolio through themed short plays like The Epic of Diaoyu Fortress, high-quality videos, and performance sketches. These enable visitors to gain a profound understanding of the site's history and culture during their visit. Additionally, leveraging local intangible cultural heritage, Hechuan has developed a series of Diaoyu Fortress-themed cultural and creative products and tourist merchandise, allowing visitors to take home a piece of this unique heritage.

The district enhances the interpretative quality of Diaoyu Fortress by cultivating professional talent, recruiting college student volunteers and "little docents," ensuring the historical charm of Diaoyu Fortress is meticulously preserved and promoted. Moreover, Hechuan District actively collaborates with web series and film production teams to create more artistic works centered on Diaoyu Fortress through on-site filming, bringing this history to a broader audience through screens.

Furthermore, Hechuan District will continue to host the Diaoyu Fortress Cultural Festival, Diaoyu Fortress Marathon, and other events to further amplify the visibility and influence of Diaoyu Fortress.
