Situated in Laojun Village, Pu'an Township, Yunyang County, the Heritage Museum is the central feature of the Yunyang Dinosaur National Geopark. The museum was constructed to preserve the fossil wall in its original location, encompassing a total construction area of 6,665 square meters. Construction commenced in the first half of 2022, and the museum comprises a fossil gallery, landscaped areas, and service facilities. The project is now 90% complete and is anticipated to open to the public by September this year.

"The project integrates protection and construction simultaneously, with a primary emphasis on fossil preservation, presenting significant challenges," stated Li Zhi, the relevant person in charge and Chief Engineer of the project. The construction process has encountered numerous unforeseen challenges, such as the impact of excavation on the fossil wall and the effects of steel structure installation. Throughout the project, monitoring the fossil wall and construction activities have been conducted in tandem, ensuring that both protection and construction progress concurrently.
