Chongqing- The convening of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has garnered global attention. On August 14 at 18:00, "Let’s Meet " aired a special program titled "Chinese Modernization: Chongqing Practices," featuring global experts including Paolo Bazzoni, Vice President at China-Italy Chamber of Commerce; Canadian writer Jorah Kai; Australian social scientist David Goodman; and Franz Wang, COO of Seres Group Indonesia Branch. They will join host Alex to discuss Chongqing’s practices from various perspectives, including economy, ecology, livelihood, and foreign openness. Their firsthand visits and observations will provide a genuine understanding of China in the new era and experience the strong pulse of Chinese modernization.

Expert's View: Interview with Professor David Goodman

In today's special program, we are honored to invite Professor David Goodman, a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Social Sciences and Director of the China Studies Centre at the University of Sydney. With over 50 years of experience in China studies, let's listen to his unique insights on "Chinese modernization."

Economic Section: New Chongqing·New Specialties

Chongqing is not only renowned for its delicious local cuisine and 8D magical cityscape but has also made significant strides in the economic sector in recent years. With the advancement of Chinese modernization, Chongqing has fostered a series of new "specialties."

Ecology Section: Yulin River: Chongqing's Path to Clean Waterways

While pursuing high-quality economic development, China’s interpretation of "modernization" also includes a globally significant concept—achieving harmonious coexistence between humans and nature- a core aspect of "Chinese modernization." In recent years, Chongqing's ecological environment has seen significant improvement. In this episode, Alex visits the Liangjiang Collaborative Innovation Zone, home to the picturesque Mingyue Lake. Behind this beautiful water area lies the persistent efforts and outstanding contributions of numerous organizations in ecological protection.

People's Livelihood Section: New Life in Minzhu Town

When discussing modernization, one crucial factor cannot be overlooked—the "people." The goal of modernization is essentially to enhance human living standards, and Chinese modernization aims to achieve this. As a mega-city, modernizing governance in Chongqing is quite challenging. Besides alleviating poverty, the higher goal of Chinese modernization is to further ensure and improve people's livelihoods. In today’s program, we will explore a local community in Chongqing to see the living conditions of Chinese residents and examine whether Chinese modernization has been implemented in the daily lives of the populace.

Open Section: Interview with Seres Indonesia Branch

Chongqing has maintained an open and inclusive attitude in the practice of Chinese modernization. With economic globalization, Chongqing enterprises are actively seeking overseas markets and cooperation opportunities, bringing economic benefits to the local area. SOKONINDO Automobile, a subsidiary company of Seres Group China, to hear the stories of openness and win-win practices in Chongqing's modernization process.
