Chongqing - The "Green City: Discover My City" Original Short Video Exhibition was simultaneously launched online in China and the United States on August 20. The event will exhibit original short videos from students in both countries, capturing the beauty of green cities through their lenses.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. To further promote cultural exchanges between the two countries' youth, elementary and middle school students from China and the US can upload their video works on the website from now until October 31. Global viewers can like their favorite videos online.

The event features four topics: low-carbon urban transport, green urban renewal, urban ecosystems, and a self-selected topic.

The topic of Low-Carbon Urban Transport should focus on green travel in the city, combining local attractions to introduce distinctive green transportation options.

The topic of green urban renewal requires participants to highlight the city's green renewal efforts and explain the green and low-carbon development methods and achievements in their cities.

The topic of urban ecosystems should focus on urban ecological conservation parks, introducing these parks to the city and showcasing the plants, animals, and landscapes there.

The self-selected topic allows participants to choose other aspects of green cities that align with sustainable development.

Participants can choose one topic for their work. Through their videos, participants can showcase their cities' green landscapes and cultural environment.

The Western China International Communication Organization will also highlight excellent works on its Facebook, Twitter, and video platforms.

In November 2024, a panel of judges composed of ten experts from China and abroad will review the works and select the best pieces. In December, an award ceremony will be held, during which certificates and prizes will be presented to the winners.

The "Green City: Discover My City" Original Short Video Exhibition is jointly hosted by the Chongqing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Center for Environmental Education and Communications of Chongqing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau, and the Chongqing Education Association for International Exchange and organized by Western China International Communication Organization.
