Huawei Confident in Chongqing's Development, Highlights Smart Vehicles and Advanced Technologies

Chongqing - On August 19, Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chongqing Municipal Committee, met with Xu Zhijun, Rotating Chairman of Huawei, to discuss expanding cooperation in intelligent connected NEVs, digital energy, big data, and the industrial internet, aiming to leverage mutual strengths. 

Yuan noted that Huawei has significantly contributed to the development of Chongqing's intelligent vehicle sector, new energy infrastructure, and supply chain enhancements.

Chongqing plans to capitalize on its national strategic advantages, robust industrial base, and advanced transportation network to advance its modernization goals.

Yuan added that the city aims to establish itself as a key transportation, logistics, and industrial hub for the western region, the nation, and globally. Efforts will focus on building a green, efficient energy center, advancing digital development, and exploring new mega-city governance models.

Chongqing will also develop an AI-driven industrial internet and integrate government, industry, society, and businesses to create innovative models such as "industrial brain + future factories," aiming to build a modern industrial system that better supports the development of Western China.

On January 30, 2023, Huawei signed a strategic cooperation framework with the Chongqing Municipal People's Government to enhance industrial digitalization, intelligent connected vehicles, and artificial intelligence cooperation.

Yuan emphasized that Huawei's strategic alignment with Chongqing's development objectives offers extensive collaboration opportunities. The city will provide high-quality services to support the company’s growth and ensure the successful implementation of their joint projects.

Xu said that Chongqing’s support highlights the city’s modernization as a fertile ground for business expansion. He reiterated Huawei’s commitment to investing in the city, aiming to lead in smart vehicles and deepen cooperation in digital energy, the industrial internet, and AI.
