By YAN DENG|Aug 24,2024

Chongqing - With the 2024 Belt and Road Journalists Forum on the horizon, Elena Rodovskaya, First Vice-Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Journalists and head of the Political Observer Department at Minsk News Agency, has expressed her enthusiasm about visiting China for the first time.

Rodovskaya remarked, "You might find it hard to believe, but there are still people in this world who have not been to China. This is my first visit to your amazing country, and I am truly excited about it."

Highlighting the forum's importance, she added, "Attending these forums and experiencing them firsthand is incredibly important. When I return, I plan to share the real China I will have experienced with our audience." She emphasized the value of ongoing collaboration with the All-China Journalists' Association: "This is a fantastic opportunity for us to leverage cutting-edge technology to showcase our country, share our culture, and, most importantly, maintain open lines of communication."

Rodovskaya’s visit underscores the increasing international interest in China’s role for the Belt and Road Initiative. The forum aims to facilitate deeper understanding and cooperation between journalists from different countries. It is expected to serve as a platform for exchanging ideas on how to report on global developments and foster mutual understanding.

In her closing remarks, Rodovskaya emphasized the significance of cross-cultural exchange and cooperation in today’s interconnected world. "Journalism is not just about reporting events; it's about building bridges between people. I look forward to doing that in China."
