Chongqing - As the 2024 Belt and Road Journalists Forum approaches, Andrei Kryvasheyeu, Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Journalists, expressed his anticipation for his first visit to Chongqing.
"This is my first and long-awaited trip to Chongqing," Kryvasheyeu said. "In Belarus, we know Chongqing as one of the largest, richest, and fastest-growing cities in the world. Chongqing has a population of 3.5 times that of Belarus. It has a long, beautiful history of over 3,000 years."
He added, "The natural beauty of the area is unrivaled. The Chinese call Chongqing a 'mountain city,' so I'd love to see the splendor of Chongqing with my own eyes."
"The Republic of Belarus and the city of Minsk have good relations with Chongqing. Our consulate is one of the youngest diplomatic offices abroad and is located in Chongqing. In May, we organized a large Belarus-Chongqing Forum discussing industry, agriculture, agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, and emerging technologies. Chongqing actively invests in Belarus, and Belarusian manufacturers are actively entering the Chongqing market," Kryvasheyeu said.
He continued, "We also know Chongqing as one of the automotive industry capitals of the world, with at least four Chongqing-branded cars plying the streets of the capital. Of course, we want to talk about where and how cars are made and how high the quality of cars, including electric cars, produced in Chongqing is."
Kryvasheyeu concluded, "We are looking at the great Belt and Road Journalist Forum, with a media platform that is the largest and most authoritative association of journalists in the world. We will talk about new journalist solidarity, content exchange, and joint projects with our colleagues from the All-China Journalists Association. We aim to inform as many Belarusians and Minchians as possible about Chongqing and China and let as many of our Chinese friends know about Minsk and beautiful Belarus. "
