Solomon Islands Broadcast Journalist: Collaborating with Media Partners Key to Upholding Democracy

Chongqing - The 2024 Belt and Road Journalists Forum and media field trips will be held in Chongqing, China, from August 26 to September 1. This event will bring together journalists worldwide to discuss and explore media trends and collaborations within the Belt and Road Initiative.

Among the distinguished participants is Elizabeth Sade, a seasoned broadcast journalist from the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Co-operation. With over 20 years of experience in content design, production, and commentary, Sade has made significant contributions to the media industry. Her extensive career includes critical work during the COVID-19 pandemic and national elections in the Solomon Islands.

Sade expressed her excitement about attending the forum, noting, "Having worked extensively in media, I believe this forum will greatly assist in enhancing our understanding of how media operates globally. The opportunity to engage with other journalists and explore diverse media practices is invaluable for staying abreast of current trends and challenges."

Sade also highlighted her satisfaction with her role during the recent elections in the Solomon Islands, emphasizing the importance of media in upholding democratic values. "Working with media partners and stakeholders is crucial in ensuring that the media's role in democracy is maintained," she stated.

Sade, visiting China and Chongqing for the first time, is excited to discover the city's famous landmarks and cultural heritage. She expressed her enthusiasm, saying she is eager to explore Chongqing and experience its renowned sites while participating in the significant forum.
