Chongqing - Journalists from around the world arrived in Chongqing, Southwest China, on August 26 to participate in the 2024 Belt and Road Journalists Forum. Upon their arrival at the hotel, Bridging News interviewed several international guests who shared their insights on the forum's significance.

Ayman Mahmoud Mostafa Mohamed Elkady, a member of the Editorial Board of the Middle East News Agency from Egypt, highlighted the strong relationship between Egypt and China. He emphasized that the forum's main objective is strengthening ties between these major countries and fostering increased dialogue and collaboration.

Kirtan Bhana, Director of the Diplomatic Society from South Africa, underscored the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative, especially for Africa. He believes this initiative is crucial as it unites countries across the continent, promoting economic development and cooperation.

Alexia Kosina, a journalist from Greece who has studied China for many years, shared her personal experience. "I've never had the opportunity to see the country up close, and it's very impressive to witness China's development over the years," she said. Her observations reflect a broader curiosity among international journalists about China's rapid growth and its impact on global affairs.

Kosina expressed her hopes that the forum will encourage the exchange of ideas and foster collaboration among journalists. By doing so, it aims to enhance global journalism and promote cross-cultural understanding.

As the 2024 Belt and Road Journalists Forum unfolds, it serves as a platform for international media professionals to engage in meaningful discussions, paving the way for stronger global partnerships and a deeper understanding of the diverse challenges and opportunities in today's interconnected world.
