China's Advanced Medical Technology: A Beacon of Hope for All | Media Tours

By YUTING CHENKENNY DONG|Aug 29,2024

Chongqing - On Thursday afternoon, some guests from the 2024 Belt and Road Journalists Forum participated in a media tour of the Chongqing Haifu Technology Industrial Park. They gained an in-depth understanding of Haifu's core technology, the "High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) surgery," and learned about its application and export to various countries around the world.

Established in 1999, Chongqing Haifu Medical Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in focused ultrasound therapy. Its products have received market access certifications in over 40 countries and regions and have been exported to 31 of them worldwide.

Lidia Irma Fagale, President of the Unión de Trabajadores de Prensa de Buenos Aires (UTPBA/CLAVECHINA), expressed her admiration for China's global impact through technology. She was moved by how China has brought advanced medical technology to a public hospital in José C. Paz, Argentina, despite the lack of local resources.

As a cancer patient and journalist, Lidia feels compelled to share this story, highlighting China's efforts to export science and technology for the benefit of all, regardless of their means. She also sees herself as a bridge in the Belt and Road Initiative, helping to connect Haifu with both public and private clinics to expand the use of this technology.

The journalists also visited the Changan Automobile Global R&D Center, where they experienced smart parking, smart cars, NEVs, and intelligent manufacturing. Changan Automobile is one of China's four major automobile groups, operating 12 manufacturing bases and 22 factories globally.

David Xicotencatl Mendez Dorantes, a journalist from Club Primera Plana, said that Mexico has been receiving and selling many cars and SUVs. During a visit to the Riviera Maya a few months ago, he rented a Changan SUV, which was an incredible experience.

David said that the vehicle was great to drive, offering a comfortable journey for his wife, their two daughters, and him, with plenty of space for everything.

This experience is part of a broader trend in Mexico, where people are starting to embrace electric vehicles. Although adoption has been a bit slow, electric cars are being well-received in Mexico.

"So I think they will be successful in Mexico, and I am sure that the sales of Changan electric cars in Mexico will do well," added David.
