Chongqing - On August 28, over 20 leaders from journalist organizations and media outlets representing 13 countries visited the Great Wall Motor Yongchuan Production Base in Chongqing.
"The development of the Chinese automotive industry demonstrates that the country not only lives in the 21st century but is also taking steps towards the 22nd century," exclaimed Timur Shafir, head of the International Department of the Russian Union of Journalists, after experiencing the cars of Great Wall Motor.
Timur praised the advanced optimization, production growth, and modernization within China's automotive industry, noting that they symbolize China’s forward-looking approach.
He emphasized the importance of adapting Chinese cars for export to Russia, particularly to withstand the country's extreme cold temperatures, reaching as low as -30 to -35 degrees Celsius in some regions. This adaptation would significantly enhance the appeal of Chinese vehicles in the Russian market.
Timur expressed optimism about continued cooperation between the Chinese and Russian automotive sectors. They pointed out that with Western automotive companies pulling out of Russia, China has a unique opportunity to strengthen its ties with Russia.
In July 2024, Great Wall Motor sold 38,185 vehicles overseas. Meanwhile, It accelerated the expansion of its overseas channels, introducing the shopping mall automotive experience center model to Kazakhstan for the first time.
The Chongqing branch of Great Wall Motor has been successfully certified as a Smart Manufacturing Innovation Demonstration Factory. The facility has implemented an online smart platform that has reduced operating costs by 20%.
