Chongqing - Chongqing Changan Automobile introduced two flagship models, the Deepal L07 and Deepal S05, at the 27th Chengdu Motor Show on August 30. These models quickly drew attention for their advanced technology and smart design.

Technological innovation and an excellent user experience have become essential as competition in the domestic NEV market heats up. In the first half of 2024, Chongqing produced 1.2142 million vehicles, of which 391,400 were NEVs—a 150% increase compared to the previous year.

Changan played a significant role in this achievement, selling 299,000 NEVs and capturing a 70% market share within Chongqing.

The Deepal L07, a mid-sized sedan under the Deepal brand, is the first to feature Huawei’s advanced Qiankun intelligent driving ADS SE solution, making it the only vehicle under 200,000 yuan to offer this technology. Its pure vision system rivals that of Tesla.

The L07 stands out with its NCA intelligent driving assistance, handling various road conditions from highways to city streets. With a highway coverage rate of over 98% and requiring driver intervention only once every 360 kilometers on average, it significantly reduces driver fatigue and improves the overall driving experience.

In urban cruise mode, the L07 smartly recognizes traffic signals and guides the vehicle into the desired lane, efficiently handling complex scenarios like lane cutting. Its smart parking system, with intelligent modeling, precise perception, and customizable features, excels in navigating complex environments and unconventional parking spaces, offering a superior parking experience.

The Deepal S05, a show highlight, is the first model with Huawei's million-pixel intelligent lighting system. This system offers a 1.3 million-pixel ultra-large projection that transforms into a starry cinema, outdoor KTV, or light-and-shadow game room during camping, greatly enhancing the outdoor experience.

While driving, the lighting system assists with night driving, narrow road navigation, cornering, and high beam enhancement. It also offers dynamic, welcoming features and customizable light patterns, adding a touch of personalization and romance to the driving experience.

The Deepal S05 is also equipped with the world’s first Pop Mart-themed smart voice assistant, offering unique voice commands, customizable avatars, and music synchronization. This cutting-edge technology not only redefines style but is also set to establish new trends in human-machine interaction.

Changan's international expansion is making significant strides. A notable increase in NEV exports to Europe, South America, and Southeast Asia has further solidified its global footprint. 

In 2024, Changan will establish a European subsidiary and launch three new energy brands—Deepal, Changan Nevo, and Avatr. By 2027, the company plans to introduce six new NEV models in Europe.

Changan also plans to establish a comprehensive Southeast Asian base, integrating research, production, supply, sales, and logistics to target the global right-hand-drive market. In 2025, the company will open a manufacturing facility in Rayong, Thailand, with an initial annual capacity of 100,000 units, expected to grow to 200,000 units over time. This expansion is set to generate over 30 billion yuan in local procurement opportunities.
