Chongqing Boosts Cooperation with Ministry of Natural Resources on Land Management and Disaster Control

Chongqing - On September 10, Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chongqing Municipal Committee, and Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing Municipal People's Government, met with Wang Guanghua, Minister, Secretary of the Party Leading Group, and Chief Inspector of National Natural Resources, to discuss intensifying support in areas such as comprehensive land management across the region, digital governance, and disaster prevention and control.

Yuan, on behalf of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government, extended a warm welcome to the delegation and expressed gratitude for the long-standing support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the State Oceanic Administration for Chongqing's economic and social development.

Yuan emphasized Chongqing's commitment to advancing key national strategies, including the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the development of China's strategic hinterland. He outlined plans to accelerate the construction of Chongqing as a comprehensive inland opening-up hub, establish the "33618" modern manufacturing cluster, and build a green and efficient energy and computing hub.

He also highlighted the city's efforts to explore new models for modern urban governance in megacities and drive high-quality growth in Western China.

Yuan expressed hope that the Ministry of Natural Resources will continue supporting Chongqing, especially in areas like territorial spatial planning reform, digital governance in land management, and preventing and controlling geological hazards in the Three Gorges Reservoir area. He urged for enhanced collaboration to achieve significant milestones in ministerial-municipal cooperation.

Wang commended Chongqing for its positive progress in high-quality economic and social development, noting advancements in territorial spatial planning, disaster prevention, and the efficient use of land.

He also praised the city for being a national leader in digital governance. Wang reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to strengthening collaboration with Chongqing, with increased support in areas such as comprehensive land restoration, digital governance, and geological disaster prevention.

The Ministry aims to serve national strategies better and contribute to the construction of a modernized Chongqing.
