The advisors emphasized that green development in manufacturing is crucial for sustainable growth. They recommended that Chongqing promote intelligent and green industrial development, draw lessons from successful international manufacturing clusters, and prioritize innovation as a key driver.

They think the city can establish a modern manufacturing cluster system by creating a platform for sharing manufacturing cluster experiences, accelerating the development of hydrogen energy industry clusters, and fostering the dual development of emerging and traditional industries.

The productive service industry is crucial to the modern industrial system. Advisors recommended that Chongqing enhance technology use in both new and traditional sectors, promote market-oriented reforms, facilitate the flow of labor, goods, and investment, and encourage cutting-edge technologies across industries.

They also suggested increasing investment in intelligent and sustainable ecosystems, strengthening the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC), and improving policies through system integration and multifunctional approaches.

The advisors said that cultivating talent is essential for Chongqing's manufacturing industry's digital and green transformation. They discussed establishing a global talent pool, deepening school-enterprise cooperation, and enhancing skills training.

Additionally, the advisors highlighted the importance of a favorable business environment as a key competitive advantage. They suggested formulating support policies for small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in technology and marketing, strengthening intellectual property protection, and improving market openness and fairness.

Zhang said that the advisor from this session successfully connected with Chongqing, which led to several cooperation agreements and projects.

Hitachi Energy plans to upgrade its projects in Chongqing, increasing production capacity by 30%. Corning aims to expand automotive glass applications, while Signify is involved in the green and intelligent development of Chongqing's urban lighting.

Air Products intends to increase its investment to support Chongqing's electronic and new energy industries, and other advisors have also expressed interest in deepening their investment cooperation in the region.

The 18th CMIA meeting will take place from September 26 to 27, bringing together 24 Fortune 500 and industry-leading companies from 10 countries and regions in Chongqing. The gathering aims to inspire ideas, build consensus, deepen cooperation, and drive the construction of a modern new Chongqing.
