Chongqing - As the third stop on the High-Quality Development Research Tour, Jiangjin District showcased its remarkable achievements and innovative strategies for sustainable growth. This tour on September 25 emphasizes efforts to enhance domestic demand, improve livelihoods, and foster economic resilience in the region.

The all-in-one card in Beiting Community

The first stop in Jiangjin was Beiting Community in Luohuang Town, which has gained recognition as Chongqing's first community to implement an "all-in-one" social security card system. 

With a population of 6,678, the community has integrated various services to enhance convenience for its predominantly elderly residents. Residents can enjoy discounts at the community canteen using their social security cards. So far, over 17,500 transactions have saved residents a total of 35,000 yuan. Residents and gig workers can also access a resting station equipped with essential amenities like air conditioning, free water, and charging stations using their social security cards.

The 72-year-old resident Peng Zhongan expressed his appreciation for the all-in-one system, saying, "Now I carry my card everywhere. I can use it to purchase medicines, and my phone receives a message every time I buy something with the card."

The second highlight of the tour included the Jiangjin Jade Market, which has become significant in the regional gemstone industry. This rare type of jade, discovered in Jiangjin, is characterized by its vibrant colors and unique "dragon scale" patterns, filling a notable gap in Chongqing's jade production. The district is working diligently to position itself as a center for jade production, with plans to promote the material's aesthetic and cultural significance.

Joybo (Jiangxiaobai), a renowned local liquor brand, is gaining popularity for its unique flavor and artisanal production methods, symbolizing the region's commitment to quality craftsmanship. Xiang Qiankun, director of the Handcrafted Brewing Workshop at Jiangji Distillery, proudly stated, "Many brewers here have passed down their skills for generations. Our company also emphasizes modern training, offering professional certification exams for baijiu tasting and brewing."

The district plans to establish the "Chongqing (Jiangjin) Jewelry and Jade Industry Cluster" to attract investment, enhance local production, and expand Joybo's market presence. Initiatives will include partnerships with educational institutions to train artisans and promote local craftsmanship.

Through initiatives like the comprehensive social security card program, the development of the jade industry, and Joybo, Jiangjin is enhancing residents' quality of life while positioning itself as a key economic player and a benchmark for high-quality development in Chongqing.
