Yunyang On-site Dinosaur Fossil Protected Shelter Unveils World’s Largest Jurassic Dinosaur Fossil Wall

Chongqing - On September 28, the Yunyang On-site Dinosaur Fossil Protected Shelter opened, unveiling the world's largest Jurassic dinosaur fossil wall. As the core venue of Yunyang Dinosaur National Geological Park, it features unique discoveries like the Puan Yunyang Dragon and Modaoxi Three Gorges Dragon.

The unveiling attracted many visitors, with families eager to explore the ancient world of dinosaurs. Children gathered excitedly around the fossil wall, listening closely to guides sharing insights about these prehistoric creatures.

Zhou Zheng discovered the fossil site in the summer of 2014 while helping local villagers. He stumbled upon a stone resembling a bone, which he later confirmed to be a dinosaur fossil. His findings gained attention, leading to a gathering of renowned paleontologists in 2015.

On opening day, Zhou was honored with a lifetime VIP pass for free entry to the museum. Looking ahead, Yunyang aims to enhance infrastructure and services to establish the park as a prominent educational and tourist destination, contributing to the protection of global geological heritage.
