Chongqing - On September 26, the 21st China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition opened in Guilin, Guangxi.
This year's event introduced a dedicated tourism section featuring exhibitors from 23 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China and representatives from 37 foreign countries and regions, including all 10 ASEAN nations. The aim is to enhance cultural and tourism cooperation between China and ASEAN countries across broader, deeper, and higher levels.
To elevate Chongqing's international image and deepen cultural tourism exchanges, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development organized representatives from five districts—Fuling, Yuzhong, Changshou, Wulong, and Youyang—alongside representatives from eight local tourism enterprises, including Chongqing Cableway Company, Chongqing Cruise Company, and Chongqing Window of International Culture and Tourism Co Ltd, as well as representatives from cultural institutions in Fuling District to participate in the exhibition.
The Chongqing exhibition area attracted numerous attendees with its rich content, sophisticated design, and immersive interactions. Highlighting the city's key tourism themes—"Metropolis," "The Three Gorges," and "Wuling"—the exhibition showcased local attractions such as the stunning night views of the 8D Magic City, Huguang Guild Hall, Changshou Lake, Youyang Taohuayuan Scenic Spot, Wulong Three Natural Bridges, and Fuling Wuling Grand Canyon, allowing visitors to appreciate Chongqing's natural beauty and cultural charm.
During the event, the Chongqing delegation also presented exquisite cultural creations, intangible cultural heritage gifts, and promotional materials. They hosted product displays, sales, and networking sessions. Leveraging this international exchange platform, the delegation actively promoted Chongqing's world-class cultural tourism resources to domestic and foreign exhibitors and professional audiences, aiming to build consensus, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and expand Chongqing's international "friend circle."
ASEAN is a vital partner for Chongqing in terms of tourism and economic cooperation. Moving forward, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development plans to accelerate the development of the Center for International Exchanges in Central and Western China, enhance the city's global brand recognition, boost inbound tourism, and continue to strengthen cultural tourism exchanges with ASEAN countries, aiming for high-level, high-quality, and efficient development in Chongqing's cultural tourism sector.
