Chongqing - From September 28 and 29, the High-Quality Development Research Tour focused on Hechuan and Jiangbei districts in Chongqing. This initiative aims to gather insights into local practices and policies that promote economic growth and enhance living standards.
The journalists visited Juhui Company in Hechuan, a hotpot-base production and innovation leader. The reception manager, Liang Lin, shared, "We develop our chili and spices for hotpot bases. Customers can taste and provide feedback, and we customize flavors accordingly." This approach highlights the district's focus on quality and innovation.

The journalists then visited the Chongqing Hotpot Ingredients Industrial Park, which was established in May 2022 and is quickly emerging as a key economic driver in the region. With a projected output of 100 billion yuan (about 14.26 billion USD) by 2024, the Hechuan government has introduced a strong operational system featuring monthly evaluations and dedicated work groups to ensure progress. This sector's rapid growth underscores Hechuan's goal to strengthen its economy and lead in hotpot ingredients nationwide.
The tour continued to Jiangbei, featuring the Western China Data Exchange and Cuntan Street, both key to advancing digital transactions and urban growth. The Western China Data Exchange is pivotal in driving the digital economy, enabling smooth interactions across different sectors.

Zhang Zhongju, Secretary of the Cuntan Street Party Committee, shared, "With limited resources, we integrated various functions into a single smart platform for faster, more efficient service. For example, when tasked with river pollution control, we used the platform to coordinate with multiple departments and resolved the issue that day. By morning, the river was clean again." This approach demonstrates how Jiangbei leverages technology to effectively enhance community services and tackle challenges.
The visits to Hechuan and Jiangbei offer valuable insights into Chongqing's pursuit of high-quality development. This could potentially serve as a model for other regions aiming to improve economic and social governance. These experiences will greatly contribute to the broader "High-Quality Development" initiative, highlighting Chongqing's dynamic approach to modern manufacturing and urban growth.
