Chongqing - The 16th China Hot Pot Food Culture Festival recently launched in Chongqing Central Park, blending "hot pot + city park" to offer a fresh experience for National Day, highlighting Chongqing's lively hotpot culture.
From September 30 to October 3, Joy City in Chongqing Central Park is hosting the "Chongqing Hot Pot World Banquet," where hotpot businesses provide an immersive experience in tents, allowing consumers to enjoy hotpot in a cozy, one-of-a-kind setting.
The event also offers the perfect blend of enjoying hotpot while jamming to live rock, folk, and pop performances, keeping the vibe lively and energetic.
Besides, over 20 hotpot industry chain brands converge to showcase Chongqing hotpot's rich variety, including cultural creations, popular food items, handmade crafts, and trendy art pieces.

At the ceremony, Meituan unveiled the "2024 Chongqing Hotpot Industry Big Data Report," showing that supply and demand for Chongqing hotpot are steadily increasing, with the chain rate surpassing the national average in the food and beverage industry. The report predicts that Chongqing's hotpot market consumption will exceed 72 billion yuan (around USD 10.3 billion) in 2024.
The festival unites hotpot restaurants, supply chains, cultural tourism businesses, and platforms across Chongqing to delight "Chongqing Hotpot fans." Events like the Two Rivers Cruise Hotpot Banquet and the Hongyadong Hot Pot Face-Changing Show combine hotpot with iconic cityscapes, inviting locals and tourists to savor Chongqing's unique flavors.
As of September 28, searches for "National Day travel" have surged 27 times year-on-year, according to Meituan and Dianping data, with Chongqing ranking among the top five most popular destinations, alongside Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, and Nanjing.
Among them, Chongqing Central Park, located in Yubei District, is considered the largest urban public park in Asia and the third-largest globally, following New York's Central Park and London's Hyde Park.
Chongqing Central Park Business District, China's largest emerging Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) hub, offers 4.2 million square meters of commercial space. It hosts major complexes like Joy City Chongqing, Longfor Chongqing Park Paradise Walk, and Chongqing Yubei Wuyue Plaza, delivering a wide array of consumer options.
