Over the 7-day holiday, the airport estimates a total passenger throughput of 1.057 million, representing an increase of 2.8% compared to last year. The airport handled 6,668 flights and processed 7,775.3 tons of cargo and mail, marking year-over-year growth of 1.6% and 21%, respectively. The average outbound flight occupancy rate reached 91.1%, a 2.8% rise compared to last year.

A representative from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport stated that to meet the high demand during the holiday season, the airport worked closely with airlines to increase capacity on popular domestic routes. Flights to major cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou exceeded 20 per day, while routes to other high-demand destinations such as Dalian, Haikou, Xiamen, and Guangzhou were also expanded. Wide-body aircraft were deployed on routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Haikou to accommodate the increased demand.

The airport has also been expanding its network in key markets such as Xinjiang, Xizang, and Yunnan. Currently, six destinations in Xinjiang are served by 14 flights per day, four destinations in Xizang have 16 daily flights, and nine destinations in Yunnan have 22 daily flights.

In terms of international travel, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport has steadily opened or resumed several international routes this year. New and restored routes include Seattle, Milan, Phnom Penh, Hanoi, Vientiane, and Jakarta. The airport now operates 29 international and regional passenger routes, with over 150 weekly flights, creating a robust network connecting Chongqing to major destinations in North America, Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and Asia.

Looking ahead, the airport plans to enhance its international route network further. Soon, it intends to increase the frequency of flights on routes such as Chongqing-Paris and Chongqing-Kuala Lumpur, providing travelers with more convenient options for international travel.
