Chongqing-The 42nd episode of "Let's Meet," Chongqing's first international broadcast program produced by the Western China International Communication Organization, featuring a special segment on the China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition, will be aired on Chongqing Satellite TV on October 2.
In China, there is a city that stands as a powerhouse in manufacturing, home to numerous motorcycle production companies, and recognized as the top motorcycle export city in the country. This city is known as the "Motorcycle Capital of China"—Chongqing. The 22nd China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition (CIMAMotor 2024) was recently held in Chongqing, and today’s program will spotlight this grand event as we explore the extraordinary allure of the "Motorcycle Capital of China."
This year’s Motorcycle Expo was themed "Leading the Development of the Industry, Creating a Better Future," championing the development direction of electric, intelligent, and connected vehicles. As a national-level motorcycle exhibition, its high standards and diverse activities attracted over 200,000 visitors.
Chongqing is known as "Motorcycle City," with the highest number of motorcycles in the country, and it is the only metropolis in China that does not ban motorcycles. This event brought together top motorcycle brands and the latest technologies from around the world, including exhibitors from China, the U.S., Italy, Germany, and Japan, jointly promoting the internationalization of the motorcycle industry in Chongqing so that Chongqing’s title as the "Motorcycle Capital of China" is transitioning from local recognition to a global stage.
Italy undoubtedly holds a significant position in global motorcycle manufacturing. It is known for its long history and exceptional craftsmanship. This Motorcycle Expo has garnered the attention of Fabio Schina, the Consul General of Italy in Chongqing. He hopes to help Italian companies enhance relevant discussions and cooperation and promote motorcycle cultural exchanges between China and Italy.
The veteran Chongqing motorcycle brands are not only renowned in the Chinese market but also pillars that support Chongqing’s position as the top motorcycle export city in the country. How should local motorcycle companies in Chongqing transform and develop amid changing times? Zuo Zongshen, Chairman and CEO of Zongshen Industrial Group, believes that Chongqing enterprises should motorcycle upgrade their equipment level, build their own technology, approach the consumer trend, improve their own manufacturing capacity and innovation ability, and better meet the opportunities and challenges of the future.
The four-day exhibition attracted 200,000 visitors from 43 countries and sparked significant attention on social media, with related topics garnering 5.8 billion views online. In today’s “Trending Chongqing,” let’s take a look at how netizens are commenting on this grand event.
