AirAsia X's new route between Chongqing and Kuala Lumpur will use Airbus A330 aircraft with four weekly flights. Flight D7809 leaves Chongqing at 2:00 AM and arrives in Kuala Lumpur at 7:10 AM, while return flight D7808 departs Kuala Lumpur at 7:35 PM and lands in Chongqing at 12:45 AM the next day (local time).

Kuala Lumpur, known for its fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, boasts a vibrant cityscape of modern skyscrapers and a rich heritage. Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur, passengers can easily connect to other major Malaysian cities, such as Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Ipoh, and Langkawi, through AirAsia's extensive network.

Adding to the appeal of the new service, Malaysia has extended its visa-free policy for Chinese citizens until the end of 2026, making travel more convenient for Chinese tourists.

To celebrate the launch, AirAsia X is offering one-way tickets starting at just 560 yuan (about USD 79), available on the airline's official website and various online travel platforms like Ctrip and Qunar.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport currently operates 29 international (regional) passenger routes with 150 flights per week, connecting the city to major destinations such as Seattle, London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, Milan, Budapest, Sydney, Doha, Dubai, Singapore, Seoul, and Osaka. This extensive network effectively links Chongqing to Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
