Chongqing - Senior executives from top U.S. companies like Intel, Johnson & Johnson, and Walmart toured Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area on October 22. AmCham China President Michael Hart highlighted their focus on talent development, startup growth, and innovation.
At Liangjiang Mingyue Lake, the executives visited the Industrial Innovation Park.
The Industrial Innovation Park partners with several Chongqing universities to enhance engineering talent training models and promote interdisciplinary studies. It also hosts activities like themed salons and entrepreneurship coaching to nurture and select talent.
The Industrial Innovation Park offers financial support to new ventures through partnerships with investment and entrepreneurial institutions. Startups receive up to 200 square meters of free office space, labs, talent apartments, related facilities, and industrial and networking resources.
The executives also observed various innovative products developed by startups at the Industrial Innovation Park, including home and entertainment tech, like robotic vacuum cleaners, equipment, drones, and core components.
The executives visited the Chongqing Institute of New Energy Storage Materials and Equipment to be briefed on the latest advancements in hydrogen storage technology research in Liangjiang.
Jiang Xin, Vice President of Hangzhou Chaoteng Energy Technology Co., Ltd., remarked that the new energy storage materials and equipment industry is innovative due to the concentration of R&D talent and policy support, providing a favorable business environment for Chinese and American firms.
