ADAS Experience Event in Chongqing Highlights Cutting-Edge Driving Technology for Global Industry Leaders

By ZHAN CHEN|Nov 04,2024

Chongqing - The ADAS Experience event took place at China Merchants Testing Vehicle Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (CMVR) in Chongqing from October 30 to 3. Attendees from China and abroad observed the full spectrum of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) development, including testing grounds, equipment, scenario simulations, data collection, and analysis.

Chen Debing, vice general manager of CMVR, highlighted the institute's significant contributions to ADAS advancement within the automotive industry. He noted that CMVR has spearheaded initiatives such as technical support, standardization, cross-sector partnerships, and talent cultivation, positioning China's ADAS technology on the global stage.

The institute collaborates with prominent international automotive technology providers and manufacturers, boosting the capabilities of domestic ADAS and enhancing the global profile of Chinese automotive advancements.

Liu Jian, general manager of CMVR's vehicle and intelligent driving testing research division, shared insights on the future of ADAS. Liu emphasized that ADAS development should prioritize advancements in perception and decision-making, supported by innovations in sensor technology. He outlined the role of deep learning, AI algorithms, extensive data training, and large-scale AI models in refining algorithms for smarter driving decisions.

The event, co-hosted by CMVR and Germany's Carhs, also highlighted the integration of ADAS in European safety evaluations. This reflects the increasing prevalence of ADAS installations across Europe in response to autonomous driving innovations and consumer safety expectations.
