Chongqing Launches Premium Consumption Month to Drive Spending and Showcase Global Trends

Chongqing - The China International Consumer Center City (Chongqing) Boutique Consumption Month will take place from November 1 to 30, according to a press conference on Friday.

As a collaborative effort to stimulate consumer spending, five pilot international consumption centers across China—including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Tianjin— kicked off promotion events on Sunday. It aims to lead consumption trends and support the upgrade of consumer experiences.

The event focuses on cultivating innovative shopping environments, organizing special-themed events, offering promotional incentives, and integrating commerce, culture, tourism, sports, and wellness. It is designed to boost consumer confidence and underscore consumption's central role in economic growth.

Chongqing, known for its digital intelligence and fashion-forward appeal, boasts a comprehensive industrial base and robust logistics network. It hosts over 2,000 international luxury and premium domestic brands. This event will leverage Chongqing's robust supply chain to showcase new product launches, including the Changan Avita 12 and Deep Blue SL03.

More than 100 major brand debuts are scheduled, such as the first southwest exhibition of the vivo X200 and Chongqing's inaugural Michelin-starred restaurant.

Simultaneously, the fourth Jiefangbei International Consumption Carnival kicked off on November 3 in Yuzhong District. As a leading event for commercial consumption in Chongqing, the festival plays a key role in driving the region's retail evolution.

This year, the carnival will partner with Harper's Bazaar again, setting the stage for the international gold street show, a premier showcase of global urban fashion. Renowned international designer brand Auteur Studio will hold its first China show, joined by other high-profile brands such as Maison Amory. International supermodels will feature in the lineup, offering audiences a front-row view of cutting-edge, stylish global trends.

The event will also release a series of consumption vouchers covering ten shopping centers and 30 shopping destinations citywide. Throughout the month, an estimated 30 million yuan will be allocated for promotional incentives. Consumer profits are projected at 120 million yuan (about 16.87 million USD), and sales are expected to surpass 500 million yuan (about 70.3 million USD).
