Chongqing—On November 6 local time, Peru's "China Hour" and the inaugural "China Audiovisual Month," were launched to enhance China-Peru cultural exchange.

The event showcased Chinese audiovisual content and aimed to deepen cooperation between China and Peru in broadcasting and media. Senior officials from both countries, including representatives from China's National Radio and Television Administration and Peru's Ministry of Education and Communications, gathered to celebrate this new chapter in cultural collaboration.
In his remarks, Guan Hong, Executive Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee, emphasized that Chongqing has long been committed to fostering cultural exchange with Latin America, particularly through the Latin American Film Festival since 2018. He noted that the successful broadcast of Chinese films and TV shows in Latin America, including Peru, has already garnered positive responses from local audiences. Guan Hong expressed that the "China Period" project launch in Peru represents a major step forward in expanding China's cultural footprint abroad and offering a platform for deeper cultural and media exchanges between the two countries.

Cecilia Del Pilar García Díaz, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education of Peru, thanked China's support for offering scholarships and training to Latin American teachers in studying Chinese culture, saying, "It motivates us to keep working harder to ensure these benefits are not left unused or forgotten but reach the teachers and students who need them most."

The event also featured the Spanish version of The Three-Body Problem premiere and the international version of A Bird's Eye View of New Chongqing, alongside the "Light and Shadow of New Chongqing" photo exhibition. These showcased China's cultural achievements and innovative audiovisual productions, offering a glimpse into the country's vibrant culture and rapid development. Additionally, a trilateral cooperation agreement was signed between Chongqing Jiazuo Media, Peru's Willax TV, and Classic Media China International Ltd. to explore business collaborations and promote the expansion of Chongqing's film and television industry in the Latin American market.
