Chongqing - The 2024 ITU/MIIT High-Level Seminar, an annual conference of the MIIT and ITU, will be held on November 8 in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, marking the first time this event moves to Chongqing.
This year's seminar will focus on strengthening cooperation in the information and communications sector. It will bring together representatives from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT), the African Telecommunications Union (ATU), the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL), and other international and regional organizations.
About 200 participants from government agencies, industry, and academic institutions across nearly 20 countries, including China, the UAE, Brazil, France, and Russia, are expected to attend. Tomas Lamanauskas, Deputy Secretary-General of ITU, will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony.
Focused on "Digital Innovation Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Development," the seminar will showcase AI collaboration results from MIIT and ITU. Three sessions will address global spectrum efficiency, universal connectivity, and green digital transformation, with discussions on sustainable space development, digital entrepreneurship, and ICT's role in coordinated digital-green growth. A "Partner2Connect" (P2C) roundtable, technology training, and cultural activities will also be featured.
Established in 1865, ITU is a specialized United Nations agency and the UN's oldest organization.
