São Paulo, Brazil – The "China: An Opportunity, Chongqing Brands" promotion event was successfully held in São Paulo, Brazil, on November 8, drawing over 70 representatives from Brazilian government bodies, São Paulo state institutions, business organizations, Chinese companies in Brazil, local universities, and 15 media outlets.

Coverage was provided by Xinhua's Brazil bureau, along with major Brazilian media outlets such as BandNews, Jornal ABC, Tourismo S/A, and Feiras do Brasil.

The event aimed not only to promote Chongqing as a city brand but also to showcase China's commitment to opening its economy and sharing growth opportunities with Brazil, Latin America, and beyond.

"We hope this event deepens Brazilian partners' understanding of Chongqing and lays the foundation for greater future cooperation,” said Guan Hong, Executive Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee. "We envision 'China: An Opportunity, Chongqing Brands' as a bridge connecting China and Latin America, especially China and Brazil."

Paulo Braga, Vice General Manager of the Chongqing Polycomp International Brazil Branch, noted the company’s long-standing commitment to Brazil since acquiring Capivari Glass Fiber in 2011, now CPIC Brasil, which serves the local market. In 2023, CPIC launched an expansion of its F01 line to increase capacity and innovation. Its listing on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on December 26 marked a new phase of global growth, including strong momentum in Brazil.

Yi Shin Tang, a professor at the University of São Paulo, discussed the state of higher education in Brazil and opportunities for cooperation with China and Chongqing. He emphasized that Chongqing, as a leading center for education and innovation in China, excels in fields such as AI, engineering, and environmental science. Collaboration with Chongqing would offer mutual benefits, including joint research and talent development. Tang also expressed his admiration for Chongqing’s rapid development and its efforts to strengthen ties with Brazil and the world.
