Chongqing - A total of 201 distinguished German guests from the German Embassy in China, German economic authorities, federal economic offices, and German enterprises visited Southwest China's Chongqing to deepen China-Germany collaboration in advanced manufacturing on November 11.
Titled "Chongqing Visit of German Advanced Manufacturing Enterprises" and themed "Sino-German Cooperation: Chongqing Meets the Future," the event welcomed 201 distinguished German guests involved five groups of participants touring Chongqing's key industrial areas. The first group visited the Changan Automobile Global R&D Center and the Seres Auto Super Factory in Liangjiang New Area, focusing on the city's advancements in intelligent connected new energy vehicles.
Pascal Benke, Quality Management Manager at Volkswagen FAW Platform Co., Ltd., praised the factory's facilities and innovation. "The quality and innovation are impressive," he noted, referencing design details like the use of cameras instead of mirrors. "Perhaps it's something we could consider at our company."
Luke Mathes, CEO of weLike GmbH, was surprised at the rapid growth of Chongqing's automotive brands. "These brands seem like they’ve been established for decades," he remarked. We see plenty of opportunities to promote products in the German market as long as the brands are set on expanding internationally."
Heribert Lenzen, Business Director of redi-Group Quality Services (Beijing) Co., Ltd., which provides technical support for automotive and electric vehicle projects, emphasized Chongqing's car brands' progress. "I've known Seres for many years, and they’ve made fantastic advancements. Changan has also invested wisely with remarkable capability and quality," he commented. "They have a clear vision, and they're leading in business and electric vehicles."
Lenzen further highlighted Chongqing's importance as a strategic hub, noting the city's strong network and support across China, which are crucial for his company's growth in the region.
