Chongqing - On November 16, the 41st edition of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Industry Project Exchange and the Chongqing Culture and Tourism Industry Key Projects Investment promotion event took place in Chongqing's Dazu District.
The event yielded impressive results, with 49 projects securing agreements worth 18.544 billion yuan (about 2.56 billion USD). Forty of these projects were signed on-site, amounting to 17.745 billion yuan. In terms of government-business-finance cooperation, ten projects secured credit agreements totaling 3.637 billion yuan. Between January and September this year, 23 financial institutions in Chongqing provided 10.663 billion yuan in credit to 52 cultural and tourism enterprises, with loans totaling 12.021 billion yuan.
The event also featured 12 key project presentations showcasing diverse initiatives, including low-altitude tourism, wellness tourism, cultural and business tourism complexes, and creative leisure districts.
One of the standout projects, the Dazu Rock Carving Cultural City, involves a total investment of 30 billion yuan, with 20 billion yuan already invested in key facilities such as business, cultural, and educational halls. The next phase includes a 10 billion yuan investment to develop the Cultural and Tourism North Hall, spanning 5.48 square kilometers and creating a unique "rock carving cultural city."
The event also launched the "Chongqing Cultural and Tourism Investment Service Platform," an online mini-program showcasing 150 cultural and tourism projects worth over 152.76 billion yuan. The platform provides detailed project information and facilitates connections between businesses and projects.
In recent years, Chongqing has rapidly developed its tourism sector, positioning it as a key growth industry. Emerging trends like digital tourism, immersive experiences, night economies, and niche performances are transforming the city's cultural and tourism landscape.
