Chongqing - From November 18 to 22, the "Tourism Makes Life Better" 2024 Urban Tourism Marketing and Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor Promotion event kicked off in Chongqing. This event marks the first initiative in Chongqing and across the country to build a high-quality development alliance for urban cultural tourism industries.
As the host city, Chongqing, in collaboration with over 50 cities nationwide, issued a cultural tourism declaration to eliminate regional barriers, establish cross-city tourism market supervision mechanisms, create a shared tourism resource database, and promote a recommendation system for tourism resources, all aimed at creating a brighter future for cultural and tourism industries.
The declaration, which emphasizes collaboration, sharing, joint promotion, mutual benefit, and connectivity, outlines a vision for the co-construction of the tourism market. It advocates for government facilitation, enterprise leadership, market-driven operations, and societal participation.
Key measures include promoting cooperation between leading tourist attractions, joint training of tourism professionals, and the collaborative marketing of tourism products. The aim is to break down regional barriers and facilitate the free flow of tourism resources across cities. The declaration also calls for unified market access standards, fair competition among tourism enterprises, and enhanced collaboration on tourism market regulation to ensure a healthy and orderly tourism environment.
Nearly 60 travel agencies across China signed strategic partnership agreements at the event. These agencies aim to develop influential cultural tourism products by forming mutual alliances and strengthening their collective market power and competitiveness. The collaboration seeks to drive innovation in the cultural tourism industry and achieve resource-sharing and mutual benefits.
Later, the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development introduced three exclusive, Chongqing-specific boutique tourism routes for participants to explore. Through on-site visits and hands-on experiences, participants had the opportunity to discover some of the city's most iconic tourism highlights, including the "Metropolitan," "Three Gorges," and "Wuling Mountains" routes. These experiences not only promoted Chongqing's cultural and tourism resources but also gave guests an up-close look at the city's natural beauty and vibrant energy.
