During the meeting, Shapingba's investment potential was showcased, with presentations from Seres Group and the New Land-Sea Corridor Operation Co., Ltd. Before the promotion session, Attendees also toured key sites, including the Seres Phoenix Smart Factory, the International Logistics Hub in Inland China Exhibition Center, and the Chongqing Dry Port.

Shapingba District signed eight cooperation agreements with trade organizations from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Uruguay, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and the United States. These agreements, spanning sectors like automobiles, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, aim to leverage Chongqing's logistics strengths and boost its international business ties, enhancing its global openness.

Chongqing International Logistics Hub Park and IBENA Shanghai Technical Textiles Co., a subsidiary of German IBENA, have partnered to introduce IBENA's new fire-resistant materials to ASEAN markets. This collaboration will facilitate the expansion by utilizing Chongqing's logistics corridors, including the New Land-Sea International Trade Corridor.

"Chongqing has fostered close trade relations with ASEAN countries through rail and rail-sea intermodal transport," said Song Hua, Deputy Director of the District Investment Promotion Center.

Song also stated that this conference further enhances exchanges among ASEAN consulates general in Chongqing, ASEAN-based enterprises operating in China, and Shapingba businesses seeking to enter ASEAN markets, fostering cooperation in new energy vehicles (NEVs), biomedicine, and commercial logistics.

According to Jade Fei, Secretary General of the Chongqing Representative Office of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shapingba has utilized its educational resources to establish strong partnerships with Laos vocational and higher education institutions. Chongqing Polytechnic University of Electronic Technology also secured a cross-border research project between Chinese and Lao vocational schools.

Fei also expressed interest in NEV cooperation between Chongqing and Laos. "Currently, Laos has established a China-Laos national-level NEV testing center and is inviting more outstanding Chongqing enterprises, such as Changan and Seres, to join these efforts," she noted.

Chongqing's Shapingba District, located in the western part of Chongqing, is a key area for higher education and industrial development. It houses the University Town, home to numerous universities and educational institutions, contributing to a vibrant, youthful atmosphere. The district is also a key industrial area known for its strengths in automotive manufacturing, electronics, and IT sectors.
