Chongqing - The Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference concluded on November 24 and hosted 216 guests and experts from 49 countries, according to Sunday's press conference.
Participants included representatives from UNESCO, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations, and officials from Hungary, Serbia, and key Chinese organizations, to discuss talent development and innovation.
"We gained momentum through the conference and successfully hosted key activities to support high-quality development," said Xie Liguo, Director of the Office of the Chongqing International Talent Exchange Conference Organizing Committee, as well as Party Secretary and Director of the Chongqing Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. The conference highlighted key industry trends and organized six major events, including the Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) Talent Exchange, the New Generation Electronic Information Talent Fair, and the Aerospace Information Industry Talent Development Conference.
Xie emphasized that these meetings and activities effectively facilitated connections among talent, achievements, enterprises, institutions, capital, policies, and other critical resources, providing robust support for Chongqing’s industrial upgrades and economic growth.
The conference resulted in the signing of 253 projects with a total investment of 51 billion yuan, including 84 projects exceeding 100 million yuan each. Among these, 110 key projects in modern manufacturing sectors, such as intelligent connected NEVs and new-generation electronic information, accounted for 43.5% of the total investment, according to Kan Jilin, Deputy Director of the Organization Department of the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Conference Organizing Committee Office.
The event also featured prominent competitions, including the Global Excellent Engineer Competition and the "Xingyu Cup" International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project Competition, which attracted 1,763 teams from 39 countries. These initiatives drive the transformation and implementation of innovative projects in Chongqing, further accelerating the city's development into a modern industrial hub.
Over 60 authoritative intellectual achievements were released at the conference, including the Talent Development Index of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and the China Digital Economy Talent Development Report (2024).
