Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Chongqing Municipal Committee, welcomed JD.com’s leadership and expressed gratitude for the company’s long-standing support of the city’s development. He emphasized that Chongqing, strategically positioned at the crossroads of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, serves as a vital hub for multi-modal transportation, integrating rail, road, water, and air networks.

With major initiatives such as the Yangtze River Golden Waterway, the China-Europe Railway Express, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity converging in the city, Yuan underscored the vast potential for growth and innovation in the region.

Chongqing is actively advancing the high-quality development of its manufacturing sector while building a modern industrial system. The city is also prioritizing urban-rural integration and revitalization, exploring new governance models for megacities, and driving a green, low-carbon transformation. In addition, it is strengthening the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle to position itself as a key engine for high-quality economic growth in western China.

Leveraging its status as a megacity, Chongqing is accelerating its integration into China’s unified national market. It is focused on developing an inland, open, and comprehensive transportation hub to facilitate the flow of people, logistics, business, information, and capital, creating abundant opportunities for enterprises to flourish.

Yuan expressed his hope that JD.com would deepen its collaboration with Chongqing, promoting practical cooperation in areas such as developing industrial parks and logistics hubs, cultivating an international consumption center, rural revitalization, and the city’s digital transformation. Together, they aspire to share opportunities and build a prosperous future.
