Int'l Travel Agents Business Matching Meeting Foster Global Cooperation

Chongqing - On November 26, the Promotion and Business Matching Meeting of the 2024 Chongqing International Travel Agent Conference was held in Southwest China's Chongqing. 

The event brought together nearly 400 industry professionals, including representatives from cultural and tourism departments across various provinces and cities, overseas tourism bureaus, airlines, key international tourism enterprises, travel agencies, industry associations, and local tour operators. The goal was to strengthen cooperation between Chongqing and global travel businesses while driving the high-quality development of the city's tourism industry.

The event spotlighted premium domestic and international tourism resources, providing a professional platform for global exchange. Discussions covered a range of topics, including sustainable destination development, management, market expansion, and marketing strategies. During the promotion sessions, participants from various sectors explored a wealth of collaboration opportunities.

The Jiulongpo District unveiled its "Ten Iconic Scenic Spots," inviting global tourists to immerse themselves in the district's modern energy and vibrant local culture. Similarly, Jiangbei District introduced four distinctive tourism routes, offering a comprehensive travel experience blending shopping, leisure, and sightseeing.

Representatives from Sichuan Province and local tourism enterprises showcased world heritage sites and the region’s rich history and culture. Their presentations supported the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the creation of the Sichuan-Chongqing Cultural Tourism Corridor.

Adding an international perspective, representatives from the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board highlighted their regions’ diverse attractions and unique cultural identities, broadening the scope of global tourism cooperation.

As an essential gateway for inbound and outbound tourism, the Chongqing Airport Group highlighted the development of Chongqing's aviation hub. Representatives from airlines, including Chongqing Airlines, Air China, Sichuan Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, Western Airlines, and China United Airlines, also presented their flight networks, services, and future plans.

The event provided an effective platform for discovering quality resources and staying updated on industry trends. Many attendees praised the meeting for establishing a solid foundation for future cooperation. 

Local travel agencies expressed enthusiasm about launching more tailored tourism routes for inbound tourists, while international participants emphasized Chongqing's growing status as a sought-after destination due to its unique resources, rich cultural heritage, and recent favorable policies. They expressed their intention to deepen collaboration with Chongqing's tourism sector and explore more distinctive cross-border tourism products, ultimately providing travelers with more diversified and high-quality experiences.
