The exhibition offers a unique look into Hungary's numismatic history, featuring rare and valuable coins spanning centuries. It traces the evolution of Hungarian currency, showcasing its journey from early forms to the modern era, reflecting the nation's economic, political, and cultural transformations. This curated collection highlights key historical milestones, from medieval kingdoms to contemporary financial systems. The exhibition was co-organized by the Hungarian Consulate General in Chongqing, the Hungarian National Bank, and cultural institutions from both countries.

In his speech, Zhang Hang, Chairman of Chongqing Hongyi Jiuzhou International Culture and Art Center, congratulated the exhibition's opening. He highlighted its role in strengthening cultural ties between China and Hungary, particularly in the often-overlooked field of numismatic history.

A particularly noteworthy item in the exhibition is a commemorative coin created to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary. The design features the mythical dragon, a symbol of China, and the Turul bird, a symbol of Hungary, placed harmoniously side by side. The dragon represents strength, wisdom, and good fortune, while the Turul bird, deeply rooted in Hungarian folklore, symbolizes courage and freedom. Together, they embody the brotherly friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

This exhibition serves as a bridge for cultural exchange. In his speech, Czégel Bálint, Consul General of Hungary in Chongqing, noted that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Hungary and China, coinciding with President Xi Jinping's recent visit to Hungary. Additionally, 2024 is the centenary year of the Hungarian National Bank. Against this backdrop, the "Golden Journey" exhibition embodies the noble vision of strengthening the friendship between the two countries and their peoples.
