Yuan Jiajun, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Chongqing Municipal Committee, chaired the meeting and reported on the key achievements and future plans for Chongqing. Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, attended and outlined Sichuan's work plan for the coming period. Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of Sichuan Province, along with Hu Henghua, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of Chongqing, respectively presented updates on the progress of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle this year. Relevant officials from the Central Financial and Economic Affairs Office and the Central Rural Affairs Office were also present to provide guidance.

Yuan emphasized that next year marks the beginning of the second five-year phase of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle’s development. Chongqing is prepared to collaborate with Sichuan to strengthen the economic vitality of the region, build the "fourth pole" of national development, accelerate the creation of a world-class manufacturing hub, and jointly develop the Chengdu-Chongqing-Mianyang "Golden Triangle of Innovation" and the Chengdu-Chongqing Central Line Innovation Corridor. The goal is to establish a high-level western financial center, enhance urban energy levels through a "dual-core" strategy, and support the development of the national strategic hinterland.

Yuan added that the two sides will work together to advance the national comprehensive reform pilot, explore new governance models for the "Twin Cities" mega-regions, foster a green and low-carbon economic circle, and create a high-quality living environment. They will also continue to promote the "Sichuan-Chongqing Integrated Services" brand, accelerate the development of the Bashu Cultural Tourism Corridor, and bring more benefits to the people.

Wang highlighted that the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle has reached a new historical starting point and is about to enter a new five-year phase. Sichuan will work closely with Chongqing to strengthen strategic cooperation, align policies, and enhance coordination, advancing the development of the economic circle more deeply and practically, contributing to China’s overall growth.
