Chongqing—Tianxing Town is nestled on the western foothills of Jinfo Mountain, Nanchuan Chongqing, one of the typical cultural tourist resorts constructed in the last 20 years. This destination offers exceptional resort experiences, including hot springs, cozy hotels, delicious food, breathtaking scenery, and a host of leisure activities. But the real magic unfolds at the night market.
After an active day of winter adventures on Jinfo Mountain, there’s no better way to unwind than by soaking in the hot springs of Tianxing Town. Surrounded by traditional architecture and a tranquil ambiance, this is the perfect way to rejuvenate body and mind.
The bustling night market is a must-see. As I walked through its vibrant stalls, I was captivated by the enticing aromas of local delicacies and the diversity of handmade goods.
One of my highlights was trying traditional Chinese medicinal drinks, which are believed to enhance health and well-being. I also had the opportunity to create a beautiful replica of an art piece using an ancient crafting technique—an experience that felt like stepping back in time.
Of course, I couldn’t leave without sampling the renowned Nanchuan hotpot. This dish is not only flavorful and nutritious but also intensely spicy – be prepared for that!
Another fascinating moment was witnessing the traditional way of cooking rice. Using pots over an open flame preserves the rice's natural flavors and health benefits, making it both delicious and nourishing.
To top it all off, I joined the bench dragon dance, a cherished folk art in Nanchuan with over 140 years of history. Dancing alongside the locals, I felt the energy and joy of this captivating tradition.
Tianxing Town combines nature, culture, and modern comfort. Whether you’re looking to relax in the hot springs, explore local cuisine, or immerse yourself in traditional Chinese heritage, this place offers something special.
If you plan a trip to Chongqing, don’t miss this unforgettable gem!
